Samsung Awarded Superbrands Sri Lanka’s Choice 2025 in Consumer Electronics!

Samsung has been awarded the prestigious Superbrands – Sri Lanka’s Choice 2025 award, reaffirming the brand’s position as one of the most trusted and admired technology brands in the country. The recognition reflects strong consumer preference, sustained brand leadership, and Samsung’s continued commitment to delivering meaningful innovation to Sri Lankan homes.

Superbrands is globally recognised as one of the most independent and credible authorities on brand excellence. A Superbrand offers consumers significant emotional and physical advantages over other brands that consumers consciously or subconsciously want, recognise, and trust. The Superbrands programme identifies brands that have achieved exceptional standards in quality, reliability, consistency, and emotional connection over time.

The Superbrands selection process follows a rigorous and transparent methodology. Brands are shortlisted following extensive market research and are evaluated by an independent panel of eminent branding and business professionals, supported by consumer insights. Only a limited number of brands, selected from thousands initially considered, earn Superbrand status, making the endorsement both exclusive and highly respected.

Commenting on the achievement, Mr. SangHwa Song, Managing Director of Samsung Sri Lanka, said, “This Superbrands recognition is a strong affirmation of the trust Sri Lankan consumers place in Samsung. It reflects our relentless focus on innovation, quality, and long-term value, as well as our commitment to bringing world-class technology to Sri Lanka. We are honoured to be recognised as a brand that consumers genuinely choose and believe in.”

Mr. Sabry Ansar, Director and Head of Consumer Electronics for Samsung Sri Lanka & Maldives, said, “This Superbrands recognition is a reflection of the strong connection Samsung has built with consumers in Sri Lanka. Our focus has always been on delivering reliable, future-ready technology that adds real value to everyday life, supported by a trusted retail network, flexible payment options and strong after-sales service. This achievement reinforces our commitment to continuously raising standards across Consumer Electronics and Smart living solutions, while making global innovation accessible to our markets.”

This Superbrands recognition comes at a time when the company continues to strengthen its leadership across Consumer Electronics and Smart living solutions. Globally, Samsung has retained its position as the No.1 TV manufacturer for 19 consecutive years, driven by leadership in immersive viewing experiences and enhanced connection & security. Sri Lankan consumers benefit directly from this global expertise through access to Samsung’s latest Neo QLED, OLED, and Lifestyle TV ranges.

Samsung continues to set benchmarks with intelligent, energy-efficient, and durable products designed for modern lifestyles. The brand’s 20-year warranty on Digital Inverter Motors and Compressors stands as a testament to product reliability and long-term performance, offering consumers unmatched peace of mind and reinforcing Samsung’s confidence in its engineering excellence.

Samsung’s connected ecosystem is powered by SmartThings, an open platform that enables seamless integration across Digital Appliances. SmartThings allows users to monitor, control, and automate their homes with ease, enhancing convenience, efficiency, and energy management. Complementing this ecosystem is Samsung Knox Security, a defence-grade security platform that safeguards devices, data, and connected environments, reinforcing Samsung’s commitment to privacy and digital trust.

Samsung’s strong market presence in Sri Lanka is further supported by its extensive and trusted national distributor network, including Singer, Singhagiri, Damro, and Softlogic. This island-wide retail and service footprint ensures accessibility, reliable after-sales support, and a consistent brand experience for consumers across the country.

Ensuring global innovation is accessible locally remains central to Samsung Sri Lanka’s strategy. By providing easy payment plans in partnership with leading banks, Samsung enables more Sri Lankan consumers to experience premium global technology, reinforcing its position as a brand that understands local needs while delivering international standards.

Beyond consumer recognition, Superbrands status delivers wide-ranging benefits across the business ecosystem. It provides powerful validation for all stakeholders including customers, retailers, suppliers, investors, and employees, reaffirming that Samsung is a well-managed brand with enduring value. Inclusion in the Superbrands publication offers high-profile exposure among Sri Lanka’s top corporate leaders and marketing professionals, while reinforcing employee pride and strengthening the brand’s employer value proposition.

Samsung Sri Lanka’s leadership team, including the Managing Director and Director & Head of Consumer Electronics, attended the Superbrands Tribute Ceremony held on 12th January at the Hilton, marking this milestone alongside the country’s most respected brand custodians.

Hatton National Bank PLC (HNB) has earned Superbrands status for 2025, reaffirming its reputation for trust, leadership and innovation in Sri Lanka’s banking sector.

The recognition was awarded in 2025 by the global Superbrands organisation in Sri Lanka following an independent evaluation of brand strength, consistency and market leadership.

HNB Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Damith Pallewatte said the recognition reflected the long-standing confidence placed in the bank by generations of Sri Lankans.

“This Superbrand status highlights the trust built through our people, disciplined governance and a client-centric approach that places customer needs at the centre of every decision,” he said, adding that the bank remained focused on responsible banking, sound judgement and supporting long-term national development.

With a network of 257 customer centres, HNB remains one of Sri Lanka’s largest private sector banks.

In 2024 and 2025, the bank received multiple international and local accolades, including being named Best Retail Bank in Sri Lanka for the 15th year at the Asian Banker Global Excellence in Retail Financial Services Awards 2024. The consumer is today a central piece in building brands.
Preferences change quickly, and it's people's choices that determine who gains space in the market.
When a brand pays attention to what its audience says, it better understands what it needs to improve and how it can provide more value.
This is how connection, trust and relevance are built.
The Brands of Tomorrow is built on continuous listening.
